We have an outstanding opportunity for a Graduate Software Developer to work with us on an exciting new Artificial intelligence project, as part of the InterTradeIreland Graduate Programme.

 

It’s a hands-on role, working with our team of skilled developers on challenging and interesting work, building a powerful marketing Artificial Intelligence interface.

 

As part of the the programme’s ‘FUSION’ project, you will be given the opportunity to undertake a Postgraduate Diploma in Business & Management at Queen’s University, Belfast which is fully funded by InterTradeIreland. The Postgraduate Diploma will allow you to develop additional business skills which will be beneficial towards your career development.

  • The Role

    Reporting to Maverick’s Technical Director, you will lead development of an AI system as part of an InterTradeIreland FUSION project in partnership with the Ulster University.

    Your role will be programming focussed and you’ll be expected to have the ability to plan, develop and troubleshoot complex systems, from solving high-level conceptual problems to debugging code.

    You will be required to undertake a Postgraduate Diploma in Business & Management, from the William J. Clinton Leadership Institute at Queen’s University, Belfast. This is fully funded by InterTradeIreland. The skills learned through the Diploma will enhance your personal, professional and managerial capabilities and will provide you with the necessary and valuable business skills to help you undertake your project role.

    Maverick will fully support you throughout this by factoring in the required time off to attend modules and workshops.

  • Essential Criteria

    Candidates must:

    1. Hold a Degree (BSc/BEng) in Computer Science or closely related equivalent
    2. Be legally permitted to work in the EU.
  • Desirable Criteria

    1. Honours Degree classification: 2:1 in Computer Science, or closely related equivalent.
    2. Professional experience in software development including programming and management of the software development process and lifecycle
    3. Experience in Conversational user interface (chatbot) development
    4. Experience in Artificial Intelligence methods, platforms and technologies, including
    5. Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing
    6. Proficiency in relational and non-relational database technologies
    7. Ability to work in a UNIX based environment.
    8. Fluent spoken and written English
  • Programming Languages and Technologies

    You should have high competency in at least two of the following:

    • Python
    • JavaScript (ES6)
    • Mongo DB
    • MySQl
    • PHP

    You will be working in a UNIX based environment using GIT for version control, experience in these is helpful.

    We have an open mind about what other languages and technologies you feel would be beneficial in this role, so feel free to suggest alternatives to the above and we’ll take these into consideration.

  • Salary and Benefits

    Salary: Negotiable depending on experience.

    The duration of this contract is 18 months.

    Maverick is located in beautiful surroundings on the banks of the Shannon in Killaloe,  just 90 minutes from Dublin and 20 minutes from Limerick. Maverick offices are lakeside with fantastic views of 16th century bridge and the expanse of Lough Derg.
