  • The Role

Reporting directly to the Technical Director, you will work as a full stack developer on a variety of B2B web projects, building and maintaining bespoke WordPress websites and web applications, styling and building frontends to exacting specifications and debugging, troubleshooting testing and refactoring code.

You will receive support and training from your colleagues and will have regular code reviews with the Technical Director to guide your progress and provide you with useful feedback. You will have an excellent opportunity to work with world class web developers and to develop your skills on worthwhile and interesting projects.

  • About You

You’ll need to be a smart, adaptable full stack web developer. You won’t need to know everything about every technology or programming language that we use initially, but you will need to possess and demonstrate a strong understanding of core programming concepts and the ability to think laterally in the analysis and solution of problems.

You’ll probably be someone who codes for fun, enjoys solving problems and doesn’t need to be asked twice to get involved with a project.

Our team includes specialists, but we’ll need you to be a generalist – tackling a variety of different problems and challenges across the web stack, from browser to server.

  • Programming Languages & Technologies

We prefer candidates with demonstrable skill and experience in at least two of the following:

    • – JavaScript (ES6)
    • – PHP
    • – MySQL
    • – Sass
    • – Laravel
    • – WordPress
    • – Vue.js
    • – React Native
    • – Python
    • – Git
    • – Apache or NGINX

You’ll need to be comfortable working with MacOS/Linux – we operate in a fully *NIX environment.

  • Experience & Education

Your educational attainments and experience will be taken into consideration, but demonstrable skill in some or all of the above technologies is of prime importance to us.

We want someone who is smart enough to pick up new concepts and skills rapidly, can follow detailed instruction and is enthusiastic and driven enough to make the most of this opportunity.

You must be eligible to live and work in Ireland and fluent in written and spoken English.

  • Salary & Benefits

This is a permanent, full time position.

Salary is negotiable, depending on your level of experience and ability.

The role is full time, office based, and hours are 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Maverick is located in beautiful surroundings on the banks of the Shannon in Killaloe,  just 90 minutes from Dublin and 20 minutes from Limerick. Maverick offices are lakeside with fantastic views of 16th century bridge and the expanse of Lough Derg.

You’ll work in a busy, comfortable and friendly environment based in our well-appointed offices. You’ll have a good chair, an iMac and great coffee on tap.

  • Equal Opportunity

We are serious about inclusivity and committed to providing a safe environment and equal opportunities to all, irrespective of background, identity, gender, race, age or sexual orientation. We’ll expect you to uphold these values during your time here.
